On August 8th I posted about Howard Dean's $10,000 per plate dinner at the Soros residence scheduled for August 19, and then never heard another thing about it. Why? Could it be the media is trying to protect their fundraising failure DNC chairman and the party in general from revealing how truly far they've gone left?

The Newsday story I originally linked to is not up anymore, but I found it mentioned in this other Newsday piece dated August 8.

This year's Hamptons political schedule is unusually hectic for a nonpresidential election year. Last weekend, Attorney General and gubernatorial front-runner Eliot Spitzer held a trio of fundraisers in the Hamptons. On Aug. 19, Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean hosts a $10,000-per-guest fundraiser at the Southampton estate of financier George Soros.

Yup, the party of the little guy set up $10,000 per plate dinner at the home of extreme left MoveOn.Soros. Again, the only explanation I can come up with for the media blackout, is the fact that it reveals once again just how far left the Democratic Party has gone. It's also interesting that if you do a search of the DNC's official blog, the name of their biggest piggy bank is no where to be found. Bonus: They call their blog "Kicking Ass". I don't think I could come up with a joke to mock that anymore than just pointing it out. Aside from how lame it is, wouldn't it be a better name for a Republican blog? Because we kick the asses (Donkey = DNC Mascot)? Oh I get it! Clever Dems, they mean it's a donkey that kicks! Hahahahah.....ha.......cough..................... ha. Give me a minute to compose myself, the cleverness is just a bit overwhelming.

Anyway, I guess ya gotta do what ya gotta do when you've got to fund door knocking and picnic crashing campaigns (seriously, that's Dean's big idea). You know that's actually a great plan, as Dean says they will do this to "deliver the message". Which message? Your guess is as good as mine because it seems any and all Democratic plans are the best kept secrets in the country. Oh wait I'm sorry, their plan is "time for a change" and "new direction". Look out terrorists! No seriously, Yogi Dean is behind you raiding your picnic basket..

*UPDATE*
GOP.com quotes Soros via the Wall Street Journal.

August 15, 2006: The number one financier of the Democrat Party George Soros writes in today’s Wall Street Journal “The war on terror is a false metaphor that has led to counterproductive and self-defeating policies.” Soros goes on to give four reasons he feels we cannot beat terrorism, saying “First, war by its very nature creates innocent victims…Second, terrorism is an abstraction…Third, the war on terror emphasizes military action while most territorial conflicts require political solutions…Fourth, the war on terror drives a wedge between ‘us’ and ‘them.’ We are innocent victims. They are perpetrators. But we fail to notice that we also become perpetrators in the process; the rest of the world, however, does notice. That is how such a wide gap has arisen between America and much of the world. Taken together, these four factors ensure that the war on terror cannot be won.”

***UPDATE***
Today's Vent with Michelle Malkin is a round-up of all things Katrina. I agree with most of Michelle's points, however I still think Brown/FEMA take too much heat for this, because the situation wouldn't have been as unmanagable had there been compitent local and state leadership. Because they refused to issue a mandatory evacuation, and follow their own plans, FEMA was left to clean up an unimaginable mess. Note how Jeb Bush is constantly in front of the cameras and issuing evacuations days before storms approach, and he evacuated the Keys days before the current storm. More of my unpolitically correct look back at "Katrina" here.

***SCROLL FOR UPDATES***

I could throw together a link round-up of all the updates on the UK terror bust, but folks like Michelle Malkin have done that here, and HotAir's AllahPundit here, here, here, and here. All of those are definite must reads, that I couldn't even begin to catch up with. Instead, this post will focus more on the reactions to the terror bust, of Democrats and liberal bloggers.

Let's start with my favorite Piñata, and DNC chairman, Howard Dean. The venomous and hateful (by his own admission) Dr. who recently had the balls to call for end to divisiveness, set the tone for what became the standard reaction from the left, with this press release. Here's a taste:

"Today's events are a troubling reminder that we are living in dangerous and trying times. These are times that call for real leadership. Not posturing, or name calling."

For Howard Dean, of all people to ask that there be no name calling is about the most hypocritical thing I can imagine. Idiot! Whoops, that's a name isn't it. Seriously though, he obviously is referring to political opponents, and I can't say that I recall hearing any name calling from any Republican pols over this. Unless he's upset over Bush saying "Islamic Fascists" (video at HotAir), when (for once) properly labeling the terrorists, I don't know what name calling he could be referring to. While I don't think he was referring to Bush's comment, it wouldn't surprise me at all.

Most of the rest of the press release was just the same old talking points we've heard for the past few years, including the one broken record line that I will repeatedly translate as "we have no plan other than to get elected":

We need a new direction in our national defense policies that's tough and smart.

New direction! Time for change! Smart and tough on terror! Don't know how, but elect us and we'll show you!

Now the next part I'd like to excerpt, that followed more talking points, is priceless:

"It also means we have to be honest about the failures of our current foreign policies, which have let Iraq slip into civil war, enabled Iran to increase its nuclear capabilities, failed to address the growing threat posed by North Korea, and Afghanistan has seen a resurgence of the Taliban. Osama Bin Laden, Al Qaeda's mastermind, is still on the loose, and the Middle East is deep in crisis.

I think we can ALL agree that those are nothing but politically charged rhetoric. No big deal right? Especially because it's Dean. Well, it wouldn't be such a big deal if it wasn't immediately followed by this:

"We must put America's security ahead of politicking and come together as Americans. I urge President Bush, the Commander in Chief, to return to Washington to address the problems we face today."

So let me get this straight, you pile on a bunch of politically charged DNC talking points that you've been repeating for years, and then insist that we put security ahead of politicking? My initial reaction (as is my reaction everytime he opens his mouth) is that Dean must be crazy, playing politics with security, and then condeming such behavior. But then I remembered he's a liberal, and that he's playing to liberals who are either not bright enough to get what he just did, or are dishonest enough to pretend they didn't.

One more quick comment on Dean's comments. I put what he said about OBL in bold above. Notice what he said, which admittedly isn't anything that out of the ordinary to hear from anyone, about Bin Laden being the "mastermind". I just don't see how he's a mastermind. A figurehead/mascot? Yeah. But mastermind? I don't think so. Again, this is for anyone not just Dean, and it's just my personal opinion, but I think calling Bin Laden a mastermind puts him on a level where he doesn't belong.

Think Dean is the only one that can turn a successful terror bust in to a way to attack Bush and the GOP? Here's our favorite Democratic Senators from Massachusetts weighing in, Teddy first:

"Five years after 9-11, it is clear that our misguided policies are making America more hated in the world and making the war on terrorism harder to win," Sen. Edward Kennedy (news, bio, voting record) of Massachusetts said.

Hmm... So intelligence sharing between the Brits, the United States, and Pakistan leading to the bust of a terror plot that would have rivalled or eclipsed 9/11 translates (for a Kennedy) in to we're more hated and the war on terror is harder to win? He's obviously referring to Iraq, but what the hell does that have to do with this?

Let me get the obligatory Iraq paragraph out of the way before I move on. Kennedy himself, along with all other leading Dems spent over a decade making a stronger WMDs in Iraq case than Bush ever did. Clinton made regime change in Iraq policy, before making eerily similar arguments to President Bush and then launching his own strikes on Iraq. We thought WMDs were there (and I still say they were), and if they had gotten in to the hands of Al Qaeda and made it to our shores, Bush would have been tossed out on his ass for not having attacked Iraq. By the way, we have countless people claiming they were moved to Syria (possibly with Russian help), we have satellite images of trucks moving across the border in the days before the war, we have Russian and Turkish scientists hiding from UN inspectors in the months before the war, etc. etc. We have even found hundreds of chemical weapons. Of course the Dems say it doesn't count because they're old... but doesn't it? Why weren't they disclosed to the UN if they are so unusable? And if they weren't disclosed, why are we so sure that the recent stuff wasn't there too, but more tightly guarded and then moved?

I guess what I'm trying to say is Kennedy's an ass. Let's see if Kerry does any better:

But Bush's foe in the 2004 election, Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts, said America was "not as safe as we can and must be" and in part blamed the president's focus on Iraq.

"This event exposes the misleading myth that we are fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them here. In fact, the war in Iraq has become a dangerous distraction and a profound drain on our financial and military resources," Kerry said.

Another Democrat who really knows how to celebrate a victory in the war on terror, eh? Again, wtf does Iraq have to do with this? This is a VICTORY dude. We haven't been attacked, and this shows that the intelligence network is currently working, though it would be better without all the NSA leaks, etc. and all you Dems playing politics with our intel gathering policies.

Yes this was primarily a British operation (because that's where the terrorists lived), but it actually was set in motion by arrests in Pakistan 8-10 days ago. But the investigation had been ongoing for months and Bush and Blair had discussed it numerous times. If liberals had their way, all intelligence gathering would be above the radar, tipping our hand to terrorists allowing them to go further underground to plan their attacks. Not many details yet, but apparently WE intercepted some calls that played a major part in this bust. I can't help but wonder if we would have intercepted these calls if liberals had had their way.

Before I get to the liberal blogs, Senate Democrat leader Harry Reid wanting to add his two cents:

"I commend British authorities for defusing this terror plot and apprehending the suspects. Their actions protected the lives of innocent civilians, including many American citizens. Today's events are an important reminder that we need to renew our focus on the war on terror and to continue to work with our allies to protect Americans from terrorism.

Renew our focus? When was our focus off of the war on terror? Oh you must be speaking just to your own party. Hit me with some talking points Senator, and round it out with some insanity!

"Terrorism remains the greatest threat to our security. As the five year anniversary of the September 11th attacks approaches, we should take this opportunity not just to remember, but to take stock of what progress has been made to protect Americans and what steps remain unfulfilled. As a result of mismanagement and the wrong funding priorities, we are not as safe as we should be and we still have not implemented the bipartisan 9-11 Commission's recommendations to secure our ports, airports, and chemical plants. The Iraq war has diverted our focus and more than $300 billion in resources from the war on terrorism and has created a rallying cry for international terrorists. This latest plot demonstrates the need for the Bush administration and the Congress to change course in Iraq and ensure that we are taking all the steps necessary to protect Americans at home and across the world."

Wow, your Iraq card playing is even lamer than the weak hands put up by your pals. How does this (foiled) plot, show that we need to "change course" (never heard that one before) in Iraq? At least Mr. Ed and the Kool-Aid guy were a little smoother when invoking the Iraq war in to a place it didn't belong, but they didn't go as far as to directly tie this event to it.

The odd thing about these comments from leading Democrats is the fact that they aren't that much more idiotic than the blogs this round. It seems the Dems keep going further left to the point where the insane lefty blogs are now becoming mainstream in the party.

Let's quickly get Michael Moore, the only man who defies all odds by being both full of crap, and full of cheetos at the same time, out of the way. He's the easiest to disect, because he simply didn't say anything. His news section is all about Sheehan and friends. I know, I know Mikey, if you've told us once, you've told us a thousand times:

"There is no terrorist threat," Moore insists. "Yes, there have been horrific acts of terrorism and, yes, there will be acts of terrorism again. But that doesn't mean that there's some kind of massive terrorist threat."

Moving along... How many DailyKos readers does it take to unscrew their brains and call this a Bush conspiracy? Well, out of 1414, it takes 689 or 48%. So almost half of Kosers don't believe this was real. I also (without proof) suspect some poll manipulation when the Kosers realized how insane they were looking, they tried to even it out a bit, because when LGF looked at it earlier 75% were calling it a conspiracy.

Perhaps the lefties are right this time though. I mean, everytime anything terror related happens they always say it's just Rove trying to bring up Bush's poll numbers. If it's an attack, many will say Bush Co. was behind it. But check this out, Dan Riehl has intercepted a call between Rove and Bin Laden that seems to prove that 689 Kos Kids can't be wrong.

While the Kos Kids were late to the game yesterday, they did eventually comment. A comment at 2:18 pm by "Hunter" is such a steaming pile I don't even really want to excerpt any of it. Basically he goes on to rant about how America sucks and talk about how great it is that the Brits could wrap up this terror plot while staying withing the "rule of law" while completely ignoring the differences in their laws and society. He offers this one paragraph that I have to quote because it's so stupidly hilarious:

That seems to be one big difference between U.S. and U.K. efforts in the War on Terror. Despite the obvious political and strategic bungles of the Blair government, the U.K. is beginning to show a history of wrapping up terror plots and arresting those involved, and seems even to have managed to have done so within the context of law.

Can you please name a successful terror plot in the United States since 9/11? I don't use that argument the way a lot of conservatives do to say "look, we haven't been attacked in 5 years", I use it to ask you what your point is. If there hasn't been a plot to bust, how do we bust it? I think the more likely scenario is that we've busted plenty in the early planning stages, with the few dozen arrests around the country spread out over a number of years, plus whatever has been kept quiet by the government. By the way, you must not have read the part about us intercepting calls and playing a role in this. I suggest you do so now, and then slowly explain to me again, why we shouldn't be intercepting calls.

I actually don't recommend reading the rest of the crap in that post, but it's funny to see Hunter get all upset about Bush saying "Islamic Fascists". He claims that this is a phrase used by "every significant racist and hate group in America"(without an example by the way), while ignoring that IT'S A PROPER LABEL of these people!

Hours after all of Hunters politicization, the Kos himself comes out to attack an unnamed GOPer for playing politics with this. Where would the left be without their unnamed sources? Even if it is true, I don't see what the big deal is about this:

"Weeks before September 11th, this is going to play big," said another White House official, who also spoke on condition of not being named, adding that some Democratic candidates won't "look as appealing" under the circumstances.

It seems pretty clear that it was in response to a question, but either way, what is the problem with pointing out the obvious? Dems have been trying to downplay the threat, and this doesn't work for them.

When I bookmarked a lot of stuff I wanted to include in this blog last night, the only mention of the terror plot from Tbogg was this. Boring.

Josh Marshall of Talking Points memo, like all the other lefties, questions the timing (yup, Rove did it). Also like all the rest he invokes Iraq to say it's wrong and we should be doing what the Brits did. (See response to Hunter and Senate Dems above). We had to go to Iraq, and this is a multi-front war on terror. Later Josh threw up a pointless BDS one line post:

Bush: Failed terror plot a reminder that everybody should stop complaining about how bad I screwed up Iraq.

More of the same at Crooks & Liars.

HotAir has video of Tom Delay and Ann Coulter giving it to the left on Cavuto yesterday. Delay's best line:

You have to go get these terrorists and either put 'em in a cell, or a cemetary. That's all they know.

Mike Gallagher piles on the left as well.

Ian at HotAir busts NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams comparing Army Rangers, Navy Seals, Special Forces, and 9/11 first responders to terrorists. You probably think that's an exaggeration, or the way I'm spinning it. No, that's what Williams did on Hardball with Chrissy Matthews, and I hope some of the big dogs at Fox pick up on this one, but I doubt it. WATCH THE VIDEO! I've got to steal this part of the transcript from Ian to make reel you in, and force you to watch it:

CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST: But, here we have maybe 24 people who have lived in London and England and the free world for all these years that become citizens, subjects of the Crown, and yet, after having gotten to know us, they want to kill themselves to hurt us. Isn’t that an even deeper conundrum here than the chemicals being used in these attacks.

BRIAN WILLIAMS: And that, Chris, that last aspect, the willingness to take one’s own life. I always tell people there are guys on our team like that, too. They’re called Army Rangers and Navy Seals and the Special Forces folks and the first responders on 9/11 who went into those buildings knowing, by the way, they weren’t going to come out. So we have players like that on our team.

Screw you Williams. Sadly word won't get out about this causing deserved boycotts that cost you your job. I think my comment at HotAir about says it all:

What an ass.

First of all, the obvious… He just compared Army Rangers, Navy Seals, Special Forces, and 9/11 First responders to terrorists. No spinning on this one, that’s what he did.

Not that anyone here is stupid enough to need this explanation, but here it is anyway… The members of “our” team that he lists don’t commit suicide in an effort to kill innocent people. Even if you were to give moral equivelency to terrorist and say that none of us are innocent civilians, our guys don’t pyschotically go out to kill themselves to accomplish their mission. Are they willing to die doing what they believe is right? Yes, but they aren’t hoping too.

As for the 9/11 first responders specifically… What an idiot you are Williams. Do you actually believe they went in knowing they wouldn’t come out? For what purpose? They were going in to get people out… if they didn’t come out, neither did the civilians. Are you saying that these first responders didn’t feel like they had a right to live while others died so they just joined the death party?

If any of you reading this, and you're one of those who Williams just compared to terrorist, let him know how you feel here:

Nightly@NBC.com or visit this NBC page for all other contact options.

***UPDATE*** - Williams responds, and I'm not buying it. Misunderstood? No, you were very clear. Bryan at HotAir didn't hear an apology.

Malkin's is all over the reluctance of people to call these terrorists Muslims, instead opting to call them "British-born Asians".

I actually just noticed Allah's post on Dem reactions which he uses a Lamont image for on the home page. I totally ignored the link because I'm so bored with Lamont talk that I didn't realize until now what the post was about.

***UPDATE***
Beyond abusing their children by parading their dead bodies around repeatedly for cameras in orchestrated propaganda movies, they brainwash them to hate jews from when they're babies. You probably already knew that right? Well so did I, but I just found this video on YouTube that's personally saddening because I have a niece the same age as this girl, and I can't imagine that they make "True Muslims" (you'll see) out of their babies. This girl has learned that in the Koran, "their God" told them that Jews are "apes and pigs".

***UPDATE***
After all the politic playing from the Dems they dare to come out and attack Republicans?

***UPDATE***
Bryan at HotAir catches Richard Clarke repeating the same matra of the Senate Dems. Bryan sums up well what I've been trying to say in translating the Democrats' comments: Success is failure.

(h/t Drudge)

As if having Howard Dean as DNC chairman wasn't evidence enough of how far the Democratic Party has gone, the good doctor has scheduled a (for the people) $10,000/plate fund raiser at the estate of none other than extreme leftist George Soros:

This year's Hamptons political schedule is unusually hectic for a nonpresidential election year. Last weekend, Attorney General and gubernatorial front-runner Eliot Spitzer held a trio of fundraisers in the Hamptons. On Aug. 19, Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean hosts a $10,000-per-guest fundraiser at the Southampton estate of financier George Soros.

At least they kept it at an affordable level. You know, because Democrats are all about the little guys, right? But Soros!?

All of us on the right and even some moderate Democrats have hammered the Democratic Party for going so far left in recent years, yet many elected Democrats insist that this is not the case. We often say that the party has been "hijacked" and that the party's control now belongs to the most extreme of liberals. Again, Democrats deny this. But WTF do you say when your extreme left party chairman hosts a $10,000 a plate dinner at Soros's?

I doubt we'll ever see any elected Democrats asked about this, but I suspect they'll respond the way the do everytime they're asked about insane rantings of Dean: "He doesn't speak for the party" (while ignoring that HE DOES SPEAK FOR THE PARTY, that's why he's the fricken chairman!)

Anyway, for all the Dems out there. This is what your party has become. A party of haters and obstructors who don't have a single plan for anything but to attack you if you don't hate George Bush with every bone in your body. You've certainly seen what happened to Joe Lieberman, simply because he has the balls to stand behind his previous statements and position on the war, and not change his mind with each opinion poll that comes out. By the way, the number of idiots in America has grown, and now a third of the country believes in 9/11 conspiracy theories. A few more points on these polls, and I predict we'll see many Democratic politicians jump on board.

July 27, 2006

This clown never ceases to amaze me:

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Down with divisiveness was the message Wednesday delivered by Democratic Party Chairman Howard Dean as he told a group of Florida business leaders that Republican policies of deceit and finger-pointing are tearing American apart.

Dean called President Bush "the most divisive president probably in our history."

I'm sorry, but aren't you the same DNC chairman who just last week said that if Democrats were in power, the current Middle East crisis wouldn't be happening, shortly before your party's last presidential candidate, John Kerry, said it wouldn't have happened if he were president?

Are you not the same Howard Dean who has said the following:

"I hate Republicans and everything they stand for."
Republicans are "a pretty monolithic party. They all behave the same. They all look the same. It's pretty much a white Christian party."
"The Republicans are not very friendly to different kinds of people,"
"You think people can work all day and then pick up their kids at child care or wherever and get home and still manage to sandwich in an eight-hour vote?" he asked.

"Well Republicans, I guess can do that. Because a lot of them have never made an honest living in their lives."

To name a few... Read more Deanisms here, but even that is just a small sampling.

Anyway, such inclusive rhetoric, huh? Pay particularly close attention to that last one. He's not talking about politicians, he's talking about you and me. I don't even want to turn this in to a study of what political party most trust fund babies associate themselves with, so I'll just let you make what you will of that glimpse in to the brain of Mr. Uniter.

Dean decided to take his newfound uniting abilities further today:

"He's always talking about those people. It's always somebody else's fault. It's the gays' fault. It's the immigrants' fault. It's the liberals' fault. It's the Democrats' fault. It's Hollywood people," Dean said. "Americans are sick of that. Even if you win elections doing that, you drag down our country."

First of all, come up with a plan and stop whining about the President, but more importantly, please explain what the hell you're talking about!? When does President Bush ever stand around blaming people? When has he said or even hinted that "It" (whatever that means) is the fault of "gays, immigrants, or Hollywood"? Of course Bush has criticized opponents for their stance and votes on particular things. Like if the Dems filibuster, then "it" is their fault. But I'm just stunned, once again, at what an idiot Dean is. Please give us one example of Bush blaming gays, immigrants, and Hollywood for something.. I'm begging you!

"For too long, we have allowed the Republican Party to give the message about what the Democratic Party is about to the voters," he said to thunderous applause. "That is over with."

How many times are you and other memberes of your party going to keep us on the edge of our seats waiting for you to define yourselves. Spill the beans already. The Democratic plans and positions on any issue are more illusive than Saddam's WMDs. At least we've found some of them.

He said party supporters would contract two million people across the country on Saturday to ask them for their votes.

"We're going door-to-door. We're going to picnics," Dean said. "Television ads are not enough. You need to knock on doors. You need to knock on every door. You need to personally deliver the message."

Look Doctor De.., can I call you Yogi? Look Yogi, we don't need you coming to our picnics we don't need you knocking on our doors, if you have something to say, virtually all of the media is in your pocket and waiting to give you free promotion.

I'm actually sad to see him still pushing this "knock on doors" campaign, because it is going to end his career as DNC chairman, and it's nice to have him around to hand elections to the GOP. It reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Elaine dates George's childhood neighbor Lloyd Braun who happens to be an advisor to Mayor Dinkins (of NYC). Elaine says that she thinks everyone in the city should wear name tags to make it more friendly. Braun recommends this to Dinkins, they go public with the plan and it costs them the election. Braun was obviously fired and wound up in a mental hospital. I think we can agree that in reality Dean should probably take a shortcut to the looney bin right now, but as long as he's around it's only good news for the Republicans.

In keeping with his uniting and civility, Dean thought it would be a good idea to call Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki an "Anti-Semite" (more at Expose the Left and Texas Rainmaker). And just in case we still didn't realize what a rational and civil guy he was, Dean put the nail in the coffin by comparing Katherine Harris to Stalin. (Expose the Left has the audio)

You know, whenever I post on crazy Dean statements, I have to pause and wonder if it's a joke. Seriously, I really sit here sometimes just wondering - "Could he really have said that?" Well, I guess if somehow Air America survives, Dean will have a job when the DNC dumps him for his pathetic job as party chair. The irresponsibility and hatred that come out of his mouth are run of the mill over there, and I can't see him fitting in better anywhere else.

July 17, 2006

At the end of my earlier post on today's Israel/Hezbollah events, I mentioned that I'd blog about Howard Dean's latest outburst, so here goes...

You probably already know that as a native Vermonter (and one who just moved back), my favorite whipping boy on the left is Howard Dean. It would be a full time job to really blog on this nut, so I don't always get around to mocking him everytime I'd like to, but I feel today's story demands to be passed along.

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean, perhaps realizing he hadn't grabbed headlines with any overly idiotic remarks lately and angry at being overshadowed by the Middle East conflict, tossed out a few memorable lines to "activists" at San Diego University Saturday.

The article opens this way:

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean accused President Bush last night of being weak on national defense and absent in the escalating violence between Israel and Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon.

In remarks at San Diego State University, Dean urged activists to fan across the nation – including deep into the heart of Republican-rich “red” states – to tell voters that Bush has failed as president – including in national defense, which Republicans tout as their core strength.

“There are a lot of things we can say when we knock on the door (of voters),” Dean told hundreds at San Diego State's Open Air Theatre.

We'll get to his comments about national defense and Israel in a moment, but let's look at a couple other things first. Dean's plan is to have a bunch of his clones...... knock on doors(?).. and tell people that Bush has failed as a President. Please knock on my door so I can see the light. I mean, I know I would see the error of my ways if only a Jr. Howard Dean would show up and tell me that President Bush is a failure.

What an amazing DNC chairman Dean has developed in to, huh? Yeah, sure at first everyone mocked him for his failures with fund raising, getting left in the dust by the RNC.. But Dean put his remarkable political genius to work and came up with a plan that has officially locked every future election for the Democrats... knocking on doors and TELLING us that Bush is a failure. Rumor has it that such an ingenius plan has shamed Karl Rove in to retiring from politics.

I can only see one small problem with Dean's plan however. Now follow me here, because I may be wrong, but I believe there is a term limit for the POTUS right? Something like 8 years I believe, and then he can't run again. My math may be a little off, but I believe at the end of this term, the President will have reached that term limit and won't be able to run again. So I'm just not sure if running against President Bush is necessarily the wisest choice, but hey, I'm not Howard Dean right? His political calculations have never failed before.

By the way, if anyone has been able to keep track of RNC vs. DNC fundraising, I'd love to have the numbers for an update to this post. I assume he's still lagging way behind, but either way I'll post it.

One more quick note, before we move on... Yes Howie, there are a lot of things you can say when you knock on the door. But remember, there are a lot of things we can say too.

Deans gums flapped a bit more, and this fell out:

“You know, people say the Republicans are tough on defense. How can you be tough on defense if five years after 9/11, Osama bin Laden is still at large, the Iranians are about to get nuclear weapons, North Korea's quadrupled their nuclear weapons stash. . . .

Oh, you got us there Howard. One question though - How was it that after 8 years and many attacks that Clinton didn't get him, even when he was actually going to be served up on a silver platter? I'll concede Iran a little, but what could have been done? I doubt you're suggesting bombing them back in to the stone age. As for N. Korea, wasn't it your guy, Bill Clinton, who made a deal with N. Korea to stop building nukes and then turned around and twiddled his thumbs while they did it anyway? You must have something better than this Dr. Dean?!

The RNC never likes to lash out at Dean the way I do, they simply sweep him under the rug as an insignificant overgrown college hippy that he is:

“Howard Dean is the chief spokesman of a party that has highlighted obstruction and hasn't provided real answers that matter to the American people,” Bounds said.

“He's not going to be able to come into San Diego and disguise the fact that the Democratic Party doesn't have real answers for the issues that are important to the American people.”

By the way, the article notes that Al Franken introduced Dean at the event. I should have known he brought his A game for a reason.

The article goes on to quote Dean repeating some of the usual talking points, and then he touches on current events:

In an apparent reference to Israeli military action deep inside Lebanon, Dean said:

“If you think what's going on in the Middle East today would be going on if the Democrats were in control, it wouldn't, because we would have worked day after day after day to make sure we didn't get where we are today. We would have had the moral authority that Bill Clinton had when he brought together the Northern Irish and the IRA, when he brought together the Israelis and the Palestinians.”

So because Bush was elected, the Middle East has erupted? First of all, can you imagine the outrage if someone on the right said that about someone on the left? I know, it's kind of old because day after day we see outrageous statements from the highest ranking Democrats, and they continually get a pass from the media. But when Trent Lott tells Strom Thurmond the countries is launched back in to the civil war and Lott is forced to resign his seat.

I'm not actually that upset at how over the line this statement is, and how he's not being torn apart in the media over it. I'm just shocked at the stupidity. What an idiotic statement to make. Who would buy something so stupid. Why don't you also tell everyone that if Democrats were in power we'd all be millionaires to you clown!? I just can't comprehend what a complete idiot this guy is. Oh wait, he was talking to liberal activists, perhaps some people are stupid enough to buy it.

As I mentioned, we see the double standard of "who can say what" play out every day, but I just remembered something. Didn't the left and the media freak out when Cheney, talking about how Kerry would treat terrorism as a law enforcement issue, said essentially that a President Kerry would leave us more prone to an attack? Didn't the AP take the quote totally out of context and make it seem like Cheney said "elect Kerry, get attacked", without explaining what was actually said. Weren't there demands on the left for apologies, etc.? But I digress.

Anyway Dean, keep up the go.... well, keep up the work. And please, no solicitors.

Read the rest of the San Diego Union Tribune article here.

***UPDATE***
Expose the Left also finds Dean's comments beyond idiotic.

h/t: Expose The Left

Well, I'm glad he's back. He sort of fell off the map for a couple months (well, he wasn't as bad as usual)... Or at least all the other psychotic behavior from more mainstream lefties outdid him for a while ("Plantation", etc.)

Now he's back in action, celebrating one great year of providing the right with the most obvious example of why the left is so wrong, simply by making and then keeping this nut as their party chairman... even as he's blown all the money and has nothing to show for it but a bunch of quotes that (if possible) make him look like even more of a nut with each passing day.

Well here he goes, providing me another entry to the RightWinged.com exclusive "The Dean's List"

"This administration is more corrupt than the Nixon administration,"

Dean also tried to compare President Bush to the President of Iran, as seen in this video clip also via Expose The Left. It's a little less quotable though, so I don't think I'll add it to The Dean's List, as much as I would like to.

I created this video a few days ago but hadn't gotten around to posting it until now. I was playing around with Windows Movie Maker (my second attempt) and came up with what I believe is a hilarious little movie.

Watch it all the way through (only about two and a half minutes long.) There are at least a couple surprises in there that I guarantee will at least make you smirk... I think probably even if you're a lefty.

Download: WMV

What did ya think? Feel free to leave me comments on this, although I suspect I'll get a lot of "you should have included ______". I have thought of others I could have included, and if I get a suggestion I really like, I may add them. But I'm pretty pleased with it for now, especially for only being my second project with Windows Movie Maker.

UPDATE: Special thanks to Ian at Expose The Left for sending some traffic my way on this one. If you got here another way, and aren't familiar, be sure to make his site a daily read/watch (best video blogger around.)

First it became publically known that Senate Dems had told Dean to tone it down when immediately after getting his new job he came out saying the most hateful and divisive things one could imagine. It's been clear that this has happened at least one other time, only it wasn't admitted publicly like the first time.

We've all known that the the DNC hasn't been able to keep up fund raising with the RNC throughout the time Dean has held this position. Some already took note earlier this month. But the new story is that he's getting a scoldin' from his peeps. I can only hope they are to stupid to fire him. He has been the gift that keeps on giving for Republicans, and you probably already know, even though I live in Nashville, I was born and raised in Vermont and take a lot of pleasure it mocking this guy.

DEAN UNDER FIRE FROM PARTY DEMS; NEARLY ALL CASH SPENT Mon Jan 30 2006 10:52:31 ET

Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill are privately bristling over Howard Dean’s management of the Democratic National Committee and have made those sentiments clear after new fundraising numbers showed he has spent nearly all the committee’s cash and has little left to support their efforts to gain seats this cycle, ROLL CALL reports.

Congressional leaders were furious last week when they learned the DNC has just $5.5 million in the bank, compared to the Republican National Committee’s $34 million.

Senate and House Minority Leaders Harry Reid (Nev.) and Nancy Pelosi (Calif.), along with the Senate and House campaign committee chairmen Charles Schumer (N.Y.) and Rahm Emanuel (Ill.), have made their concerns -- directly or indirectly -- known to Dean, claims the paper.

Emanuel was particularly upset last week upon seeing the latest DNC numbers.

“A lot of people are scratching their heads as to what’s going on,” said one senior Democratic aide.

Another Democratic source familiar with the party fundraising apparatus said there is “obvious displeasure” among the leaders.

John Kerry: (sigh) Where'd the money go Howard?

Howard Dean: These haircuts don't pay for themselves John!!!

Anyway, isn't it great to watch the Democratic Party fall apart before your eyes?

January 22, 2006

Light blogging this weekend, but I was thinking about, and thought I'd remind everyone of what the Democratic Party has become (as if you could forget). Keep in mind, this is only a partial list and while people like Mayor Nagin of New Orleans say ridiculous things too, this list is more about Washington folks who hold power on a national level. I won't include celebrities in this list either, I'm strictly talking powerful leaders in the Democratic Party. I also won't be including the media in this list, although one could argue the public opinion they create based on lies and spin is often more powerful than any politician.

By the way I'm undecided at this point if I'll use more than one Howard Dean quote in this (because it's so hard to pick just one), but you can always refer to RightWinged.com exclusive "The Dean's List", which can always be found on the left sidebar.

Anyway, on to the lesson in civil discourse and patriotism from today's American Democratic Party.

Howard Dean, Chairman of the Democratic Party (via New York Daily News.)

I hate the Republicans and everything they stand for...

Charlie Rangel, Congressional Democrat from New York (via New York Daily news)

The Iraq war "is the biggest fraud ever committed on the people of this country. ... This is just as bad as the 6 million Jews being killed," the 74-year-old Harlem Democrat insisted during a Monday radio appearance on the WWRL-AM morning show with Steve Malzberg and Karen Hunter. "The whole world knew and they were quiet about it because it wasn't their ox being gored."

When interviewer Malzberg challenged Rangel's analogy, the congressman replied: "I am saying that people's silence when they know things terrible are happening is the same thing as the Holocaust."

Dick Durbin, Senate Democrat from Illinois talking about military treatment of detainees at Gitmo (via Fox News)
This is actually pulled from the article about his apology. An apology for anyone that was offended, not an apology for having said it, which he should have given.

"If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags or some mad regime — Pol Pot or others — that had no concern for human beings," Durbin said last week.

Hillary Clinton, Senate Democrat from New York (via Fox News) (video at ThePoliticalTeen.net)

The House "has been run like a plantation, and you know what I'm talking about," said Clinton, D-N.Y. "It has been run in a way so that nobody with a contrary view has had a chance to present legislation, to make an argument, to be heard."

"We have a culture of corruption, we have cronyism, we have incompetence," she said. "I predict to you that this administration will go down in history as one of the worst that has ever governed our country."

John Kerry, Senate Democrat from Massachusetts (via CBS News) (video at ThePoliticalTeen.net)

....And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women...

Barack Obama, Senate Democrat from Illinois (via ThePoliticalTeen.net and Fox News)
Here he admits out how the Dems should and will play politics this year (as if we didn't already know).

"It is arguable that the best politics going into '06 would be a clear succinct message: `Let's bring our troops home.'... I think [that] would probably have some pretty strong resonance with the American people right now, but whether that's the best policy right now, I don't feel comfortable saying it is."

Jay Rockefeller, Senate Democrat from West Virginia (via Fox News) (video at ThePoliticalTeen.net)
Many have argued that this is Rockefeller admitting to treason. At the very least, it's unacceptable for him to go the terrorist state Syria, who's President is part of the same political party like Saddam Hussein and tip them off months before the war. Saddam to Rockefeller, by way of Bashar Assad: "Thanks for the headstart on moving my WMDs Jay!"

ROCKEFELLER: No. I mean, this question is asked a thousand times and I'll be happy to answer it a thousand times. I took a trip by myself in January of 2002 to Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria, and I told each of the heads of state that it was my view that George Bush had already made up his mind to go to war against Iraq, that that was a predetermined set course which had taken shape shortly after 9/11.

John Murtha, Congressional Democrat from Pennsylvania (via USA Today)

LATROBE, Pa. (AP) — Most U.S. troops will leave Iraq within a year because the Army is "broken, worn out" and "living hand to mouth," Rep. John Murtha told a civic group.

Bill Clinton, former President of the United States, husband of Senator Hillary Clinton (via USA Today)
Still the prince of the Democratic Party, and will forever hold a lot of power, Clinton chooses to go overseas before Arab students to call the Iraq war a mistake. (ignores taking military action himself under the same intel, and that based on that intel in a post-9/11 world we could just launch a couple scary missiles and hope "containment" would work)

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Former President Clinton told Arab students Wednesday the United States made a "big mistake" when it invaded Iraq, stoking the partisan debate back home over the war.

Dennis Kucinich, Congressional Democrat from Ohio (via ThePoliticalTeen.net)

We did not authorize the bombing of civilians in Afghanistan ... Nor did we ask that the blood of innocent people, who perished on September 11, be avenged with the blood of innocent villagers in Afghanistan.

Howard Dean, Chairman of the Democratic Party (via WOAI) (audio at ThePoliticalTeen.net)

“idea that we’re going to win the war in Iraq is an idea which is just plain wrong,”

I'm bored with gathering these at the moment... but if you have any (mainly stuff from within the last year) that you'd like to add, email me or leave them in a comment. I'll try to add them to this post as they come in.

January 07, 2006

I don't think it's any secret that Howard Dean has a few screws loose, and he seems to constantly top himself when it comes to thinking of ridiculous things to say... But why is it, whenever we want to slap a liberal in the comment box with a Dean quote and say "This is your party chairman!?", we can't ever find the exact quote. We know basically what he said, but because it's always so unbelievable, we need to provide the exact quote and a reliable source to keep our credibility. I'm here to help. If you hadn't already found the link in the left side bar, I bring you.....

The Dean's List

Like our favorite "Dems on WMDs" lists, I hope this will be a resource for those who seek to ridicule the Democratic Party Chairman at every possible opportunity. Please do your part in mocking the former Governor of my former home state of Vermont (where I was born and raised), every chance you get.

Rest assured that this list is never complete. I am actually sure that I've forgotten a few and I'd appreciate any tips, as well as anything in the future I might miss. I may expand this at some point in the future to include "actions", like when he blocked media from a debate a while back, etc.

Actually... you know what's weird? Has anyone heard from this guy since shortly after the "We can't win" fiasco (which by the way is include in The Dean's List)? I remember after he went overboard in his first couple months on the job they slapped him around a bit and told him to shut his mouth... but I wonder how bad he got it this time? I mean Dems were running from his comments left and ri... well, left anyway. But they were scared and out with all this "he doesn't speak for the party" stuff (quick reminder: he's the party chairman). Anyway, I hope he turns up to feed The List.

In addition to The Dean's List, I'd like to give a shout out to some of my favorite resource "lists" out there and mention that their links can always be found in the lower part of my right side bar.

Dems on WMDs
Kerry on WMDs 1990-2003
The Iraq / Al Qaeda Connections

If you don't have those bookmarked already, do it now... or you can always find them along with many more in my "Smack Libs with..." section in the lower part of the right side bar.
