By now, you've certainly all heard the reports about Mel Gibson's DUI arrest and alleged Jew bashing tirade, right? Personally, I generally can't stand tabloid news, so I haven't even posted on it. But I did hit the link at Drudge to quickly see Gibson's mug shot over at TheSmokingGun.com, and I've got to say it's great when compared to most of the other celeb mug shots we've seen. In fact, I would be willing to bet that many of you would choose Gibson's mug shot over their driver's license photo any day! (or if you're reading this in the near future, you might prefer Gibson's mug shot over your "undocumented worker" card).

If somehow you've been in a closet and missed the whole Mel Gibson story, the big blogs covered it the other day: HotAir, Expose the Left, Michelle Malkin.

Other than that, all I really have to say is that it's annoying that the left is trying to hold Gibson up as their conservative answer to all the wild things that liberal celebs do. The problem is, Gibson isn't a conservative. I'm not sure what he is but he's praised Fahreheit 9/11 and as you know bashed Bush and the Iraq war. It's very similar to how they try to hold up the Westboro Baptist psychos who hold their "God Hates Fags" rallies at troops' funerals in an effort to smear the troops for fighting for this supposedly fag country, as some radical conservatives. The FACT is that they are Democrats!!! They supported Al Gore, and their leader ran for Governor of Kansas AS A DEMOCRAT. Just don't be jumping to conclusions about who Mel Gibson is, just because the media has tried to turn him in to a conservative/Republican icon.
