*SCROLL FOR UPDATES - REUTERS still spinning

I was turned on to yet another Hajj scandal by reader Michelle, and have dug a little deeper to add to it. Obviously Hajj is officially discredited so the piling on isn't necessary, but the point still remains that Reuters should be holding some editors responsible for being asleep at the wheel. They claim that a "group" of editors scrutinizes everything, but that is clearly a lie. They thought firing Hajj solved their problem, and if you watched H&C tonight, you know that Colmes thinks the story is over with Hajj's firing as well. *UPDATE* - Ian at HotAir has posted video of Alan giving Reuters a pass. Could he be more clueless?

First, Michelle passed along links to the following two images and captions. Pay close attention to the building in the background and the dates:

So the first picture is dated July 18 and the second is dated July 23, however we're clearly looking at the same building. Are we to believe that the building was rebuilt somewhere in between those 5 days, and then destroyed by Israel again, in the exact same way it was the first time?

After looking at those images, I realized that I'd seen that buidling before. I quickly found that it was in the background of a picture I used in an earlier post, in the section about Hajj & Friends' mystery woman:

Boy, this lady can't get a break! It seems her house has been destroyed quite a few times all over Lebanon. Now she's got one that was destroyed twice, on July 18 and 23. Again, what a coincidence it was destroyed twice, exactly the same way, huh?

Reuters continues to try to whitewash the whole Hajj scandal, crediting their own review for finding the photoshopped images. What POSs.

LONDON (Reuters) - Reuters withdrew all 920 photographs by a freelance Lebanese photographer from its database on Monday after an urgent review of his work showed he had altered two images from the conflict between Israel and the armed group Hizbollah.

Reuters ended its relationship with Hajj on Sunday after it found that a photograph he had taken of the aftermath of an Israeli air strike on suburban Beirut had been manipulated using Photoshop software to show more and darker smoke rising from buildings.

No, I'm sorry it wasn't an "urgent review" and Reuters didn't "find" it, Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs did!

It established on Monday that a photograph of an Israeli F-16 fighter over Nabatiyeh, southern Lebanon and dated Aug 2, had also been doctored to increase the number of flares dropped by the plane from one to three.

No, I'm sorry "it" didn't establish crap! Rusty at the Jawa Report did!

The 17 paragraph article mentions nothing about who actually discovered this scandal until the very end, and even then it's vague and doesn't mention anyone or any blog by name:

Questions about the accuracy of the photograph arose after it appeared on news Web sites on Saturday.

Several blogs, including a number which accuse the media of distorted coverage of the Middle East conflict, said the photograph had been doctored.

Several blogs "said" it had been doctored. Didn't you just admit that it was? You're acting as if we're a bunch of fringe conspiracy theorists for making such a claim, after just admitting to the photoshops and claiming credit for discovering them. What makes you think we should suddenly trust you because you ditched Hajj. You still haven't explained why your high standards allowed these images to get out in the first place (again, your policy claims that a group of editors scrutinizes everything), and you haven't held anyone but the propogandist to account. How about his enablers?
