Target: NYC/NJ Transit Link - Another Terror Plot Foiled

Another pat on the back goes to the FBI, intelligence agencies, and whoever else was involved in busting up a plot to attack the underground transit link between New York City and New Jersey.

Quick, 1,000 pandered for votes goes to the first Democrat to react by saying: "That's okay, but we still haven't gotten Bin Laden! George Bush promised us Bin Laden!"

The left knows the general public is to busy to acknowledge the fact that UBL is more of a mascot than anything. He didn't plan 9/11 himself, nor did he carry it out. It doesn't mean he's some nobody, and we certainly are still looking for him (despite what the MSM tries to tell you). But the left knows that hardly anyone knows more than "Bin Laden" if they were asked to name a terrorist or Al Qaeda member. Because of this, they constantly shout "Bin Laden", like getting him is what will end terrorism.

The left knows that most of America isn't paying close enough attention to say "hey, wait a minute, this bust, the Canada bust, the Miami bust, and all the other small busts are much more important than getting UBL, and are all related! These are people over here in a position to attack us, with plans to attack us. Bin Laden is sitting in a cave somewhere with little contact to anyone". So the left will continue to shout "where's Bin Laden" in reaction to every success in the war on terror, but I would hope that eventually people would see that they ARE BEING PROTECTED and WE ARE WINNING the war on terror. Obviously a lot more should be done (border, etc.), but you have to give the left credit for realizing how many idiots there are in this country that buy this whole "Bin Laden" thing.

Am I the only one who doesn't even like saying "Bin Laden" anymore, because it's like such a pop culture sort of thing now? I've actually felt this way for a couple of years now. Even when someone agrees with me, if they aren't the most informed I just hate hearing "Bin Laden" brought up. Does that make any sense at all? Kind of in a hurry, or I'd elaborate, but I've got to believe I'm not the only one.

Anyway, the left so far just doesn't seem to care at all about this foiled attack.

***UPDATE***
Hotair has video of today's press conference, as well as a follow-up noting that the attack date was set to be 9/11/06.

Now y'all know darn well (or you should know) that this announcement on the tunnel plot is all politically motivated. Just imagine what the republicans would be saying if this plot announcement occured during the latter days of the Clinton administration. I bet that the FBI strongly recommended that they moniter and let this plot develop to a much greater degree before any arrests were made. Apparently this plot was only at the chat room and e-mail stage. I have the same comment on the Miami seven. The Miami seven are a bunch of common criminals and probably should be in jail. I suppose that many criminals would take free arms and money and probably stiff their sponsors. But are the Miami seven terrorists capable of blowing up buildings? I don't think so.

I really don't have time to be arguing, in detail, such lunacy, Danny needs a brain... but I will say this... Had anyone thought that any of the other terrorists who had succeeded in their attacks, would be capable?

Politically motivated? BS. The administration barely mentions these busts that occur quite regularly. They should be though, but they just don't play to opinion polls.

As for waiting until later stages for arrests... I think the NY Times would have gotten hold of information regarding the operation and plastered it on their front page to undermine intelligence gather like they always do. They would scream something about privacy rights of chat rooms and how Bush and Cheney are spying on us in chat rooms.

Oh, and should we "wait" as you suggest? Able Danger identified 9/11 ringleader Mohammad Atta and 3 other 9/11 hijackers years before the attack, but the wall between intelligence and law enforcement, stritcly upheld under Cliton, blocked the information from getting to where it needed to be. No, I'm sorry, "waiting" isn't an option. If this were a video game or some strategy game where real lives weren't at risk, okay... but we can't be taking chances.
