Novak Reveals Sources, And Did The DailyKos Remove Their Own Post, After Learning It Was Wilson?

***SCROLL FOR SECOND SET OF UPDATES***

****SCROLL FOR UPDATES**** - *Novak on FNC Today (Wednesday)* - *Where's Truthout.org?* - *More Bias From Yahoo!/AP*

The blogosphere is abuzz with the latest Plamegate news - "Robert Novak Reveals Sources!" While the MSM seems to be waiting for Novak's column to come out tomorrow before they say anything, Drudge has some exclusives for us:

FLASH: Bob Novak set for two separate interviews at FOXNEWS CHANNEL, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned. Novak will appear on Brit Hume (6pm/et) and Hannity & Colmes (9pm/et)...

I missed Hume, and am going to have a tough time catching H & C, considering the MLB All Star Game is on too. But I'll be sure to at least catch the late night reairing.

But that isn't all Drudge is reporting right now. He's also saying that Novak is revealing that he got Valerie Plame's name from an entry on Joe Wilson in the book 'Who's Who in America', which was out in 1999!

BOB NOVAK, My Leak Case Testimony: 'I learned Valerie Plame's name from Joe Wilson's entry in 'Who's Who in America'... MORE Published reports that I took the Fifth Amendment, made a plea bargain with the prosecutors or was a prosecutorial target were all untrue... MORE... My primary source has not come forward to identify himself... Bill Harlow, the CIA public information officer who was my CIA source for the column confirming Mrs. Wilson's identity. I learned Valerie Plame's name from Joe Wilson's entry in 'Who's Who in America'... I answered questions using the names of Rove, Harlow and my primary source.

So it seems we're still awaiting the name of the "primary source"... Which we always need to keep in mind is completely irrelevant anyway, because she wasn't "outted" in the sense that she wasn't covered under any law and she was never put in danger, and she wasn't overseas and covert. Again, this is why there were no indictments on the "leak", because there wasn't really a "leak" in the sense of the word the media and left has used it.

But how can the revealing of her name (supposedly the big issue here) be cause for an investigation whent it was published in a book in the late 90s!!!

Wizbang actually posted on this almost a year ago (last August), with a scanned image of the Wilson section of that book, check it out now.

In the run-on paragraph that is essentially a Joe Wilson biography, we read the line:

""m. Valerie Elise Plame, Apr. 3, 1998,"

Why has this not always been the biggest revalation in this story? Why was Wizbang on this almost a year ago, but this seems to be the first many of us are hearing of it.

Novak's partial column can be found here, with the full column appearing tomorrow. (h/t Stop the ACLU, with a h/t to Expose the Left for linking me to their post)

Note to any confused liberals. No one is claiming that 'Who's Who in America' is Novak's primary source. What we're claiming is that it was only confirmed to him that Wilson's wife worked for the CIA, and Novak simply looked Joe Wilson up in the book to find out her name.

What's really odd to me right now is that I began writing this post a few minutes ago and saw that the DailyKos was covering it as well, though they weren't mentioning the fact that Novak got the name from 'Who's Who in America'. Of course the DailyBS's intention is still to go after the administration, so don't expect any honest on this (or any other issue) any time soon. What's odd is my browser locked up so I closed it, and when I got in the middle of this post, and was going to refer to the DailyKos entry, it was gone (and remains gone)!!!

HEY KOS KIDS, WHERE DID THE POST GO?!?!?!

Call me overly suspicious, but I think they pulled the post because they don't want people looking in to the recent developments and to read that line... that Novak got Plame's name from a book! Right now, as their site is up and running fine, it doesn't look like some random glitch just deleted that one post. We've seen plenty pulled from liberal blogs and sites after being exposed by conservative blogs... would you really be all that surprised to see that happen here?

***UPDATE I***
Drudge reported earlier today (well, yesterday really, but I haven't slept) that Novak would be appearing with Brit Hume and later on Hannity and Colmes on FNC, as I mentioned earlier. Well, I don't know if plans changed or what, but it appears at least the Hannity and Colmes interview is set for today (the actual today, Wednesday), and I don't know if he was on with Hume or not yet. Anyway, be sure to at least catch H&C tonight.

***UPDATE II***
I would like to hear TruthOut.org's take on this. As we speak the word Novak isn't on their main page at all, and Rove is mentioned only in an unrelated story, so I think we can safely assume that they haven't said boo about this yet. It wouldn't really matter except for the fact that these are the people who asserted and insisted that Karl Rove had been indicted almost 2 months ago. A claim I believe they admitted to being wrong, only on the timing, but I recall reading somewhere that they were still certain an indictment was forthcoming. (For background read this, this, and this).

I guess if they stay silent, the best we can hope for from the media and the left (did I just say "and", like there's a difference?) is more clever subliminal photos taken of Rove with an "EXIT" sign behind him, or Kerry staffers calling Rove a pig.

***UPDATE III***
As you know, I love bashing Yahoo! for their blatant display of liberal media bias, and like clockwork they're at it again. Under the little news section always displayed on the main page (my home page) I was treated to one headline that reads: Novak: Rove was a source in outing Plame (see cropped screen shot below, incase they change the headline, as they've been known to do when busted flat out lying... I doubt they will this time though, because it's actually the AP's headline)

For starters, that indicates that the real story here is some revelation about Karl Rove. We've known for a long time that Rove was in the middle of this, but the "this" has never been what the left and the media (there I go again, acting like they aren't one in the same) has made "it" out to be. (see full explanation in original post). To be clear, it appears that Yahoo! is only guilty in this case of choosing this story with this headline to display on their home page, and the AP is in fact the guilty party here (shocker!). Anyway, as I've said, this wasn't a "leak" or an "outing" in the sense that most of America has been lead to believe so to say Rove was a source in the "outing" is misleading at the very least.

Worse than just misleading, when the AP says "outing Plame", they are borderline flat out lying. "Plame" was printed in a book in 1999, listing her full name as the spouse of Joe Wilson!!! Novak may have been told and had confirmed that Wilson had a wife who worked for the CIA, but all Novak had to do was open a book to find her name... so did the book "out" her, and where's the AP headline?

Furthermore, and correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Plame's cover name Valerie Jones? So how could mentioning one Valerie Plame, out this covert Valerie Jones? Please explain this to me libs.

I will cut Yahoo/AP a little slack this time, as it's not an outright lie (as in the past), but I will say that it does go far beyond misleading. I won't even get in to what a pile the article is because I would be going line for line, and waste everyone's time. You can digest the entire case and read the article as an informed American and decide whether you think it's a fair article written in a straight forward way. I personally believe it may not reach Michael Moore status, but it's not that far off either. And why not even a single mention of where Novak got the friggin' name!?

***UPDATE IV***
Novak's full column is now available, but I think all the news that was fit to break was already broken last night. Probably still worth a read though, just to hear Novak's own words, rather than the media distortion that we continue to see roll in.

The Real Republican has put together an excellent round-up of all of this, and like I did, he notices how the leftists in the MSM have turned this in to some sort of Rove bashing event, when it's clear that the real story is only positive for Republicans, and negative for Democrats. Definitely check out this post.
