The latest example of President Bush caving in to pressures from the liberal media and international "rights" groups comes today, as the administration grants Geneva Convention rights to Gitmo detainees.

According to this article, not much should change and it doesn't necessarily make anything absolute, but one thing is for sure - if anything does change as a result of this, it only stands to make us less safe. If you need someone to explain why, then you clearly don't want to know in the first place.

Here Press Secretary Tony Snow downplays the significance:

"This could change nothing except for the fact that it is an admission for the first time that any law applies to al-Qaida detainees," she said. "The issue here is really one of interpretation — and we've seen how they've interpreted torture."

I hope it's much of a non-issue as you make it sound Tony, but I'm not fully convinced. I'm angered that the administration keeps taking beatings from the leftist media and international far left groups, and doesn't ever respond except by occassionally caving in or compromising with them.
