Purdue Student Arrested For Death Threats On President, Administration. Free Speech?

***SCROLL FOR UPDATES***

I'm sure liberals everywhere are outraged that the government is infringing on this idiot's "free speech". Expect lawsuits from ACLU types.

Post-Tribune

A Purdue University graduate student was arrested and charged with threatening to kill President George W. Bush, Laura Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

Vikram Buddhi allegedly posted the detailed and threatening messages on an online message board.

Buddhi has been studying industrial engineering at the university, having moved temporarily from India to his new home in West Lafayette 10 years ago on a student visa. He was originally hired as a teaching assistant in the math department but was removed from that position and is now a teaching assistant in the industrial engineering department.

As long as he's not wearing a cross around his neck or anything, I'm certain that the American left has Vikram's back.

Vikram's Purdue web page can be found here. It also appears that he made the "Book of Great Teachers" a few years ago.

***UPDATE***
Expose the Left is now commenting, saying that Buddhi is a classic liberal.

***UPDATE II***
You all know how much I love mocking the idiocy of the left, right? Have I got one for you today... You know how I said that I expect to see liberals rushing out to defend this guy's "free speech", right? Well first let me clarify, I don't even know that they'll blog on it. They'll most likely try to ignore it and call it a non-story, but any that do open their mouths will whine about how it's free speech and if he wasn't actually going to do it, he shouldn't be in trouble. But anyway, I just wanted to make clear that I don't expect to see Hillary holding a supporting press conference, but we know that most liberals would take this guy's side in a second.

Now, as I just promised, I want to give you a great example of liberal idiocy. Look what this leftnut blogger is saying about me:

This idiot conflates what the student’s lawyer said with what “liberals everywhere” must think. (It’s called a defense, dummy. They’re payin’ the lawyer to come up with an excuse. For all we know the lawyer is a Republican.)

So he calls me an "idiot" and a "dummy" based on me supposedly "conflating" Buddhi's defense/lawyer's statements with liberals. BUT WAIT! Where did I say anything about his lawyers comments? Not only did I not say anything about them, I didn't even include them in the excerpt I used!!! I started the post with my immediate first impression before ever having read the article, simply based on the left's history of defending the indefensible, and it had nothing to do with this guy's court defense or his lawyer's statements. This was not just spin from this lefty, it was a lie.

A lot of libs, predictably (like we didn't see this coming) have said "where are all the libs defending this?" Well of course you're not going to openly after we preemptively accuse you of it. But more importantly, most of you don't even know about it. The media has burried this thing. Just do a search on the guy's name ("Vikram Buddhi") in Google News or Yahoo! News. Admittedly it's not the story of the year, but search 'sulu gay' and there's a ton of stories about Star Trek's Mr. Sulu supporting gay activists.

So anyway, that's the main point, most people don't even know about the story. But just like you libs being cheerleaders for the recently convicted al-Arian, especially when he was found not guilty of other charges, or demanding all kinds of "due process" for Gitmo detainees, your groups will be out to "fight for the rights" of this idiot too. But the large majority of you will just try to ignore it, or perhaps leave comments on righty blogs who posted it, whining about how it's a non-story and talking about how it's "not a big deal" because "he didn't/wouldn't actually try to kill the President".

Blah, bored with this now.
