President Throws First Pitch, Reuters Takes Iraq Jabs

I meant to post this yesterday, but lost track of the article. Anyway, the media just can't get enough Bush bashing, and they've now gone as far as to pull in unrelated comments about Iraq to a story about the President throwing out a ceremonial first pitch at a baseball game! The headline on the Reuters story, via Yahoo! News? "Bush's first pitch -- 'kind of a slow ball'", okay, we see later that those are the Presidents words so I won't read in to that part, but here's the first paragraph:

CINCINNATI (Reuters) - George W. Bush, briefly setting aside troubles that have beset his presidency, indulged his passion for baseball on Monday by throwing out the ceremonial first pitch of America's 2006 Major League season.

and later

The ballpark visit could have been a welcome diversion from the Iraq war and other political woes that have pushed the president's approval ratings to new lows, yet Bush was accompanied by two wounded Iraq war veterans, one walking with a cane and the other with an artificial leg. They were joined by the father of a soldier killed in Iraq.

and

So politics was still on the minds of some at the game. Cincinnati lawyer Brett Goodson, 55, stood behind the dugout clutching an anti-war leaflet distributed outside the stadium.

"I'm a Reds fan but not a Bush fan," he said.

Standing next to him was another attorney, Charles Lindberg, 77, who said: "I'm a Reds fan AND a Bush fan."

"We should not have gone into Iraq," said Goodson, while Lindberg shot back. "We HAVE to be in Iraq."

That last section, I suppose I could kind of let slide.. but those first were totally ridiculous and out of place.

Expose the Left has the video of the pitch by the way.
