Remember the blogosphere erupting over Google caving in to China's demands for censorship on Google.ch, China's version of Google. Particularly odd was that this happened around the same time they stood their ground while others caved to the U.S. government in a battle over turning over search records.

Well as bad as that was, Yahoo! is apparently turning over records to China that are assisting them in arresting dissenting Chinese citizens.

BEIJING (Reuters) - Yahoo Inc. provided evidence to Chinese authorities that led to the imprisonment of an Internet writer, lawyers and activists said on Thursday, the second such case involving the U.S. Internet giant.

The company cooperated with Chinese police in a case that led to the 2003 arrest of Li Zhi, who was charged with subverting state power and sentenced to eight years in prison after trying to join the dissident China Democracy Party, writer Liu Xiaobo said.

What is going on with everyone caving in to China. I suspect this, as well as the Google situation, is just "business before principle", rather than these companies actually being in bed with commies. I think it's purely business for these companies, but that doesn't excuse it.

Anyway, like I said, send over your Yahoo! logo entries and I'll post 'em here. Let's see if we can get some ideas as creative as we saw with the Google logos.
