Video: President Bush State Of The Union Speech - January 31, 2006
I'd like to share some highlight video of the State of the Union speech, but I need to do some cutting and pasting to get it, and it's a bit of a hassle with the ghetto editing software that came with the even more ghetto capture device I bought (worth every penny though.) I did discover one cool thing today though, too bad it was after I'd already recorded the speech. The picture wasn't great coming through the normal cable line, but the device does have a/v inputs so I a/v cables from the a/v out on the TV and that makes for a way better picture. AGain, too bad I didn't try this until after I had already recorded the speech.
Anyway, until I edit down to the clips I want to share I'd like to direct you to Expose The Left, where you can find the entire speech video.
Also, I just noticed that Ian at Expose The Left has up video of one of the highlights I had planned to post. That makes it easier on me though, and his video quality is better so check out Hillary in this close-up of her in the audience tonight. Right after President Bush delivers a great line: "because we will not sit back and wait to be hit again.", as became a pattern throughout the night, the Democrats all sat their pouting (even though most of the "cheer" moments should have been bipartisan). Then the camera shoots over to ol' Hill and she's got some kind of mocking smile on her face, and then shakes her head a bit and gives sort of an eye roll.
First of all, show a little respect. Second of all, that shouldn't be a partisan thing, unless the Democrats are supporting "sitting back and waiting to be hit again"? All you libs scream about Bush dividing the country, but we all know who's really been doing literally nothing for years other than dividing us when they aren't busy obstructing. I'd like to call Hillary a name for the way she's been acting, particularly in the past few weeks, but I don't want to do a disservice to female dogs.
Anyway, as I said, I'll be getting some other highlight video up shortly... Stay tuned.
UPDATE: I didn't see this earlier, but Expose The Left has video of the applause that followed The President asking for reauthorization of the Patriot Act, and (again) the Dems all pouting (as I mentioned earlier, this was pretty much the way the entire evening went.) Thanks Ian, there's another one I won't have to struggle with editing down.
