"Dark as Chocolate" Brown Snow In Colorado? Mayor Ray Nagin Has Yet To Issue A Statement.

original photo source

This story really isn't that interesting, but once I saw the word "chocolate" invoked, how could I pass up an obvious opportunity to rip on the Mayor of New Orleans, Ray Nagin who you might remember said this:

We as black people, it’s time, it’s time for us to come together. It’s time for us to rebuild a New Orleans, the one that should be a chocolate New Orleans and I don’t care what people are saying uptown or wherever they are, this city will be chocolate at the end of the day.

and to top his own idiocy, he then had this exchange (explanation?) with a reporter

MAYOR RAY NAGIN: Do you know anything about chocolate?
REPORTER: I’m asking you.
NAGIN: I’m asking you.
NAGIN: Do you know anything chocolate? How do you make chocolate? You take dark chocolate, you mix it with white milk, and it becomes a delicious drink. That’s the chocolate I’m talking about.

So now I'm curious, how long will it take, after reading the following headline and attached story, for Mayor Nagin to issue a statement in which he tries to rally Colorado to eat chocolate flavored snow cones.

Storm drops dark brown snow in Colo.

FRISCO, Colo. (AP) — Snow that some residents described as dark as chocolate brown was reported across parts of Colorado Thursday, a result of a wind storm in northern Arizona that kicked up dust that fell with the snow overnight, officials said.

"It's pretty much statewide," said Ethan Greene, director of the Colorado Avalanche Information Center. "We've had reports from the San Juans, Winter Park ... all over."

Greene said it's not unusual to see plumes of reddish dust from the desert Southwest drop on the Rocky Mountains in the spring. (Related Weather Guys blog post:Don't eat that brown snow.)

Exceptionally dry conditions in northern Arizona contributed to the dust, Greene said.

I'm begging any reporter who can get to Nagin to PLEAAAAAAAAAASE ask him for comment on the chocolate snow in Colorado. PLEASE!?

UPDATE
Expose The Left and Michelle Malkin are both displaying the following photo of Nagin mocking t-shirts being worn at the first post-Katrina Mardi Gras celebrations...
