UPDATE

First, If you hadn't already read this post about Harry Belafonte and Hillary Clinton's joint appearance today, do so now.

Here's the latest from The Politicker:

"Maureen Cogan, vice chair of CDF's board of directors, introduced Clinton and then began to play a video, but stopped it abruptly and announced it would play at the end of the presentation because the Senator had to go and needed to give her speech immediately. She criticized tax cuts 'for people like me and my husband' while funding for foster care was cut.

"When Clinton finished she exited the podium the side opposite of the reporters, who ran out of the dining room around to the elevator bank to catch her, but she was already gone."

Weak. I thought Hillary would be brave (read: politically minded) enough to condemn Belafonte's remarks or at least have him forced to stay at home. Not just show up and run so she didn't have to be photographed chillin' out with ol' Harry. Well, I'm no Paul Harvey, but now you know the rest of the story. Looks like this one is dead.

Shocking! The ultra liberal NY Times has hired ultra liberal Ted Koppel.

NEW YORK Veteran broadcast journalist Ted Koppel will join The New York Times as a contributing columnist beginning Jan. 29, Editorial Page Editor Gail Collins announced today. Koppel's column will appear on the Op-Ed page periodically.

Koppel was quoted as saying:

"There is no more respected or influential forum in the field of journalism than The New York Times,"

Really? Who "respects" the NY Times other than the far left?

But I still can't get enough Koppel, where can I get more Koppel!?

Koppel, who spent more than four decades at ABC News and until November anchored "Nightline," has also signed a one-year deal to provide commentary to National Public Radio (NPR) programs "Morning Edition," "All Things Considered," and "Day to Day."

Koppel, 65, has also been named managing editor of the Discovery Channel, where he will host and produce long-form programming examining major global topics and events.

Whew, that was a close one... For a minute there I was worried that he wouldn't be lurking around every corner! Thanks NYT, NPR, and Discover Channel. Seriously, what's the deal? Media outlets seem to be battling for this guy's time... I knew he was a lib, but didn't realize what a hero he was to the rest of 'em.

According to The Politicker, a blog from The New York Observer's page, Harry Belafonte is supposed to team up with Hillary Clinton tomorrow.

Harry Belafonte of course the former singer, and current moonbat who just the other day called President Bush the greatest terrorist in the world is set to appear with likely 2008 Democratic Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton, says The Politicker:

Clinton and Belafonte are both slated to appear at The Children's Defense Fund's 2006 Winter Benefit awards luncheon.

If you've followed Belafonte, you know he's said plenty of crazy things over the past few years, in addition to the recent comments, including calling Colin Powell and Condi "house slaves" and "black tyrants." I wonder if he'll be asked not to come, or how Hillary will distance herself from this. I may not like her, but she's politically minded enough to know not to associate with this guy. Heck, even the far left AARP who named him one of their "Persons of the Year" last year, is distancing themselves. Not to mention, Hillary has largely agreed with the President on the war publicly, so much that she drew attacks from Cindy Sheehan (who might make a better partner for Belafonte.)
